Abstract

Mild steel MMAW (Manual Metal Arc Welding) is a common method to join metals permanently. This process produces manganese fume. Manganese is an essential element with hazardous effect to central nervous system if inhaled in excessive concentration. The aim of this study was to assess blood mangane­se (MnB) and urinary manganese (MnU) in 19 MMAW welders and 19 unexposed controls, which were equivalent in smoking habit and caffeine and alcohol consumption.

Abstract

This study aimed to see the protective effect of tomato extract to prevent nephrotoxic impact of uraniu­m to kidney cells. Thirty white male mice were divided into 6 groups. The first group was used as normal control, while the second group was the negative control.
